Most issues with an electric pallet jack come down to one of three things: how it's charging, how its speed is set, or how much battery it has left. This guide walks through what you can check yourself, and what to do if the truck still isn't working right.
Before you do anything else: don't open the truck's covers or attempt any internal repair yourself. If a check below doesn't solve the problem, contact our team by email, text, or phone, and send a short video of the issue. Our engineers can diagnose most problems faster from a video than from a description alone.

Truck won't charge, or the charging light looks wrong
This is the most common thing customers reach out about, and it's usually a charging routine issue rather than a fault with the truck.
What to check:
- Park the truck securely and pull out the supply plug before removing the battery.
- Remove the battery from the side and inspect the charger and charging plug for visible damage before connecting.
- Insert the charger's charging plug into the battery plug, then plug the charger into a standard power outlet.
- Check the LED on the charger: red means charging, green means fully charged. If neither light comes on, the connection likely isn't seated properly — reseat the plug and check again.
On the F4 and F4-201, a full charge from empty takes about 2 hours on a standard outlet. Charging times vary slightly by model and battery size, so treat this as a general reference rather than an exact figure for every truck in the lineup.

Truck feels too fast
This comes up more often than the opposite — most customers who contact us about speed are asking how to slow the truck down, not how to get more power out of it. There are two different speed controls, and it helps to know which one you're looking for.
Turtle mode (temporary slow speed): Set the control handle to the vertical brake position, then press the creep speed switch and the drive switch at the same time. The truck will move at a reduced, fixed low speed for as long as you hold both. This is useful for tight spaces or congested areas and doesn't require any settings change.
Adjusting the truck's normal travel speed: If you want to permanently lower the top speed the truck reaches during regular use, this is done through a Bluetooth app connected to the truck's controller — not through the handle. This adjustment is available on the F4, F4-201, EPL205, WPL202, EPT25-WA, and MN-01. It is not available on the CBD15W-II or CBD20W-II, which use a different controller. See our step-by-step speed adjustment guide for exact instructions.
What the battery indicator lights mean
The display has four light indicators. When the truck starts, all four light up. As the battery drains, the lights turn off one at a time, and when only the last light remains and is flashing, the battery is low and should be charged immediately — otherwise the truck will power off.
Raelon's trucks also have low voltage protection built in:
- Battery at 7%–15%: the truck can still drive normally, but lifting is locked out.
- Battery below 7%: the truck cannot lift, and driving speed slows down.
If you see this behavior, it's the battery protection working as intended, not a fault. Charge the truck and both functions will return to normal.
Truck won't move at all
If the truck has no response whatsoever, work through these in order — most of the time it's one of the first three:
- Check the supply plug is fully engaged. If it's disconnected, none of the electric functions will work.
- Check the key switch is turned to "ON," not "OFF."
- Check the battery charge level. If it's fully depleted, the truck may not respond until it has some charge — connect the charger and check again after a few minutes.
- Check the truck isn't still connected to a charger. A truck in charging mode won't drive until charging is stopped and the charger is disconnected.
If you've checked all of the above and the truck still won't move, this usually points to something internal — a blown fuse, a wiring fault, or a controller issue — and isn't something to diagnose or open up yourself. Contact us with a video instead.
Still stuck after these checks?
Send us a short video of the issue along with your model and what you've already tried. Our engineers can usually tell what's going on faster from a video than from a written description.
When to contact Raelon
The checks above cover the issues we hear about most: charging routine, speed settings, and battery level. For anything beyond that — the truck won't move after all the checks above, lifting doesn't work even with a charged battery, or you notice any unusual sound, smell, or damage — stop using the truck and contact us. Don't open the covers or attempt a repair yourself; some of what's underneath, including the electromagnetic brake and the hydraulic system, should only be handled by trained personnel.
Email, text, or call us, and include a short video of what's happening along with your model. That's usually enough for our team to tell you what's going on and whether it needs a part, a setting change, or a service visit.
Common questions
Why won't my electric pallet jack charge?
Usually it is a charging routine issue rather than a fault with the truck. Check that the charger's charging plug is fully seated in the battery plug and that the charger is plugged into a standard power outlet. The charger LED shows red while charging and green when fully charged. If neither light comes on, reseat the plug and check again.
How long does it take to charge an electric pallet jack?
On the F4 and F4-201, a full charge from empty takes about 2 hours on a standard outlet. Charging times vary slightly by model and battery size, so treat this as a general reference rather than an exact figure for every truck in the lineup.
How do I slow down an electric pallet jack?
For a temporary slow speed, use turtle mode: set the control handle to the vertical brake position, then press the creep speed switch and the drive switch at the same time. The truck moves at a reduced, fixed low speed for as long as you hold both. To lower the normal top speed permanently, use the Bluetooth app connected to the truck's controller. This is available on the F4, F4-201, EPL205, WPL202, EPT25-WA and MN-01, but not on the CBD15W-II or CBD20W-II.
Why does my electric pallet jack drive but not lift?
It is usually the battery protection working as intended, not a fault. With the battery at 7% to 15%, the truck can still drive normally but lifting is locked out. Below 7%, the truck cannot lift and driving speed slows down. Charge the truck and both functions return to normal.
Can I open the truck and repair it myself?
No. Do not open the covers or attempt an internal repair yourself. Some of what is underneath, including the electromagnetic brake and the hydraulic system, should only be handled by trained personnel. Contact Raelon by email, text or phone and send a short video of the issue along with your model.
